This is way too minimal for me. I can appreciate the lyrics and the hard times that spawned this record's rawness, but talking over noodling acoustic guitars for 40+ minutes is not okay with me. It's barely music in his own words. I don't know what to think of this...I just know I'm not enjoying it, not even in the same way I enjoyed other gut-wrenching records like Sufjan or Nick Cave.

It was uncomfortably personal, but I thought it being stripped down so much worked better than anything else would have. Some of the lyrics really got to me. Not sure I'll listen to this again, so I don't even know how to rate it.
