checked out Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga since my last post (quite a few times in the 2 years since I made it, lol) & while it's definitely very good i'm still just a sucker for They Want My Soul. can't wait to hear what they bring out next

Ga is their peak for me but they’re so damn consistent that there’s a case for any album except their debut being their best.

still haven't heard anything pre-Girls Can Tell, but i'm intrigued to say the least

A Series of Sneaks is more straight indie rock a la Pavement/Pixies than the rest of their work (though there some hints of where they'd go) but it's a hidden gem. The debut is similar but the songs aren't quite there yet.

Yeah that is an essential Spoon song. Also big on "Minor Tough", "Advance Cassette", and "30 Gallon Tank".

i was pretty put off by how relatively dry & minimal-sounding Girls Can Tell was after having been introduced via TWMS & this one, but i'm startin to dig that one quite a bit more as well

Is anyone else straight up annoyed by the title track?

nah
and yeah Log S their sound has gotten more and more expasive over time. I love these last two albums a lot but personally I prefer my Spoon raw/minimal

Been jamming this album a lot lately. Not their best album, but it has some of their best produced tunes. Spoon season is just on the horizon . . . I can feel it coming

Damn, this came out 4 years ago? They're overdue for sure.

Crazy, yeah.
Spoon's a funny band for me. I'm usually pretty underwhelmed by their fresh releases, and then they click out of the blue a year or three down the road. Like, I remember Transference sounded lazy as hell to me in 2010--I mistook the lo-fi aesthetic for sloth--and now I see it as their masterpiece

Be nice if they had something fresh cooking.
