Man, Surrogate is so addictively good. This album is slowly creeping up my top 10 of the year.

I wish users had more granular ratings. I'd like to give this a 4.2 or so

Man, the solo in Low Feels Blvd reminds me so much of maudlin of the Well

I've probably listened to Low Feels Blvd at least a couple of dozen times over the last week and a half.

Finally got around to checking this today. Aside from Fugue throwing me off a little and Low Feels Blvd not doing much for me (which given everyone else's reaction points to me needing to listen to that again), this is more or less how I wanted them to go out.
Limerent death makes me want to smack the shit out of somebody [2]

fugue is easily the weakest track on the album but it's a nice little break imo.

What other bands have done that? Seems to be a pretty rare thing, but I could be wrong.

It's becoming more common lately. Yellowcard did the same thing and released their best album and final tour. Anberlin also did it in 2014.
Bowie sorta did it with Blackstar but minus the final tour

This album is great but for some reason I can't bump it to a 4.5 yet. Just gotta let it simmer a bit more I guess

Is it just me or are several parts of this pretty underwhelmingly straightforward for a Dillinger release? The energy's all there, but some tracks feel simple compared to past work - even compared to One Of Us, there's nothing of the same head-spinning factor as When I Lost My Bet or Understanding Decay. Apologies Not Included is the prime culprit, I guess.

Nothing comes close to Clip the Apex or Panasonic Youth, say. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but it's one of the main reasons why I dig this band.
