Bathory Aria's final Elisabeth speech is so awesome, a highlight for sure. Especially how Dani takes over as her beauty shalt wilt, unseen, with the "to peace or hell for company" part going into the instrumental and then Lustmord. Very effective.

My favorite of their catalogue. Not only three or four good songs but great all way long. Highlights: the incredible intro of "Cruelty Brought...", "Bathory Aria", Barker's drumming in "Desire in Violent Overture" and the riffing throughout the album. Those were the days when Dani was leaving place for the guitars to deploy full riffness, not for the keyboards and his screams to overshadow everything else.

No arguments there. Nowadays this floats around like my 5th fav but it’s still an absolute classic.

Epic album and Dani's best performance imo. I wish they would remaster/rerecord it however. The drums and Sarah's vocals sound like crap. Doubt Nick and Sarah would come back though.

The more I read into Elizabeth Bathory the more I begin to suspect that the story is horseshit. I think she was just a crazy rich cat-lady who gave massive loans to politicians and they decided they can just get rid of her rather than pay up. Everything about the legal proceedings was shady af.

You believe right. The real Bathory comes from Sweden.

The only important thing is that she bathed in the blood of virgins. And don't tell me she didn't I need to believe it's real to achieve orgasm.

I have found that playing "Bathory Aria" for CoF haters will change their tune. Its undeniably a masterpiece.

Of Mist and Midnight Skies has always been my third but there’s so many great ones. You Will Know the Lion By His Claw from the new album is prob up towards the top 5 at this point.

I really haven't given the debut the time it deserves honestly. I need to change that. Saffron's Curse and Presents From the Poison Hearted 2 of my favs that you wont see on best of lists. And fuck yeah on Lion!
