I feel like when this album works it is the best DTP album so far and not far away from Ocean Machine quality but as with all recent Devin albums apart from Casualties of Cool there's a lot that misses the mark IMO.

I honestly think Ocean Machine is overrated by fellow DT fans. It's a good record but people act like it's by far and away his best and I just have never seen it.
I agree this isn't his best DTP, I think that goes to Addicted or Casualties (since Casualties might as well be considered DTP, since all "Devin Townsend Project" really means is Devin Townsend 2009-present with different guests helping him)

nah Ocean Machine is his best. Not necessarily on a song by song basis (although Bastard, Voices In The Fan and Seventh Wave are all easily among his best songs) but definitely on the strength of the album's flow and development.

The track Failure was amazing that was released prior to the album officially coming out but the whole album missed the same kick ass metal element.
