College isnt worth it. By the time you earn a degree in whatever your pursuing your likely to be so in debt that you would of earned more money if you never went and just a regular 9 to 5 in the first place

Yeah it definitely depends. My degree unfortunately has literally not done Jack shit for me. I'm working a random (albeit decent) warehouse job completely unrelated to my degree, 15 years after graduating.



I will definitely encourage my son to entertain trade schools and whatnot. There are a lot of real jobs that kinda get thrown under the bus in the US in favor of a college education. But my oldest is going to college and loving it and she's super smart and driven so I fully support that as well.



There are a lot of variables. Im just glad I dont have to make that decision again

That's what I mean that's the another problem. Alot of ppl end up getting into a profession they didn't even need to go to college for in the first place. It has it pros and cons just like anything else. Is the debt worth it? Especially when your degree might not even benefit you in the end money wise ? At the end of the day for alot of ppl it just winds up being a waste of time unless you wind up being a doctor. But then again my uncle went to college for years and years and got a job that pays 35$ a hour and the job he wanted in the first place. So end of the day its sort of a gamble do it and see what happens

at the school i went to, there were plenty of poor people who spent thousands of dollars to be there instead of going to a state school or community college. lots of people knowingly take on the debt when there are perfectly good alternatives. the pressure they put on themselves was insane. very sad situation

I didn't go to college and always have wondered if my life would be much different had I. I've actually been considering doing it now tbh. Main reason I've been entertaining the idea though is just off of the fact that I really enjoy learning and I feel like my brain has had an extreme lack of stimulation in recent years. Idk

I did the whole college thing as well. I'm glad I did it in hindsight, but there were some major negatives. The teachers make a big difference. I feel like a lot of modern professors aren't interested in showing you HOW to think, but WHAT to think.



I had a professor for some bullshit art class who, ironically enough, literally put the exam study guides behind a paywall. These "study guides" had the exact answers to the exam questions. You're paying $70 to get a good grade on these exams, on which you're espousing the prof's Marxist views on the pitfalls of revenue collection and how it destroys art. It was a fuckin' joke that wrote itself. I wrote the dean anonymously but idk if anything ever came of it. I'm highly doubtful lol



Education is a wonderful thing, but I encourage people to question everything. Don't submit to authority and adopt an idea just because the teacher tells you to.
