So is anyone gonna talk about Optimus Prime's cameo in the change over from Apotheose Part 1 to Part 2...?
Or did I miss that discussion?

I can't really get into this or the vocals, but this band has a ton of talent. The bass player fucking shreds.

Beyond Creation has a prominent bass player, but their music is pretty divisive.

Have peeps here also checked out unhuman?

Yah, they're awesome too; definitely comparable to these guys. They really show off their Quebec quirkiness which I really like.
The vocalist, however, is fucking CRAZY

Definitely up there among the best tech death records I have ever listened to!
I was extremely skeptical when I heard people saying "it's the best tech death album since Incurso" but now I tend to agree and see some common points: straight in your face, lightning fast (those gravity blasts!) neo-classical tech death with jazzy bits here and there (albeit First Fragment has more jazzy and funky parts à la Gorod than Spawn of Possession).
The EP was really cool, but this is waaaay superior.
Beyond Creation is nice but not nearly as good as Augury or First Fragment IMO.
Now, let's see what Defeated Sanity will release this year (so far, the double album seems amazing) and Augury (probably next year)! 2016 is a great year for tech death I must say (even though last Fallujah record was a bit underwhelming)!
"Planetary Duality is pretty much the most consistent and well-written modern tech death album there is. It's the complete opposite of a clusterfuck since it's so focused and clear with its songwriting. It's written very much like classic death metal with obvious and inherently straightforward songwriting but just with an extremely technical base. I mean if you think it's a clusterfuck you probably didn't listen to it very hard or attentively since it's no less unlistenable or "clusterfucky" than any other death metal record."
Not nearly as good as Incurso honestly (and way under Organic Hallucinosis which is pretty much the golden standard when it comes to modern technical death metal with a cold, almost industrial vibe and huge production). And the production on Planetary Duality is shit. Period. I used to jam this album a lot. But now I just can't stand the triggered to oblivion drum machine sound... Oh wait? It's a human drummer playing on this record? My bad, can't hear the difference. The drum machine on The Aftertought Ecstasy sounds more natural than the drums on Planetary Duality. I love the Cynic influences on PD though (and strongly disagree with this review: call me gay if you will, but "Traced in Air" was an amazing album worth the wait).

Definitely agree and I'm glad someone pointed this out.
BC is a pretty standard affair tbh. I liked them at first but they got pretty boring fast. Both Augury and FF are miles ahead in terms of replayability and uniqueness.

beyond creation had some nice trems on their debut (among other cool things) but the dxc influence hindered them
haven't heard their follow-up yet though
augury and ff are definitely better
