If I'm doing shots I usually do the whole bunch in like a few seconds, though I suppose I generally dont do more than 3 or so.

even with absinthe, at least in my experience. like one shot is prob around a unit and a half (possibly at a stretch 2), and you lose a unit an hour, so it isn't gonna do much.

shots can be very deceptive as well, two weeks ago we went to a club to teach canada how to drink and i drank like four shots of vodka in half an hour or so but didn't really even feel it until we got home and then damn i vomited all around the place
