>vocalist put years of work and passion into writing personal lyrics with a storyline and performed it with absolute immersion.

y'all:

-cringe

-emo

-show-off

-super-sensitive

you don't have to like it but you don't have to demean other people's passion and project that they only do it to show off... I really hope you don't do this to your friends and family.

that's probably Gaia just looking for validation haha

but yea, gotta say as a general rule if you're doing something cringy and to top it off being soooo super passionate about it, that only makes you look like an even bigger dork

The only part of this conversation that I care about is Pika mis-labeling this as progcore.

progressive deathcore is such a misnomer in most cases. The Contortionist - Exoplanet was progressive deathcore, but this here is just them trying to write good music without considering genre boundaries, while still wanting to have some breakdowns in. If that's enough to qualify as deathcore than the requirements are pretty lenient. Hell, next thing you're gonna say if Insomnium had chugged and syncopated breakdowns in two songs outta ten on an album, that'd already make them deathcore

I'm fine with my progressive deathcore labeling being debateable; the main thing I was getting at was that this is not progcore (progressive metalcore).
