I mean why does the corny concept even matter? I'm criticizing the music here

I didn't know Solaire had such disdain for some post rock

Nah. Only Gyro wants something different. Most of us are content with basic post rock done extremely well

ya ok... a concept memorializing your recently passed vocalist and historic people who have died in extraordinary/heroic circumstances is....corny...great opinion dude

Hammock is maybe... No, most likely my favourite post-rock band. Kenotic and raising your voice are damn near perfect. Everything and nothing and oblivion hymns come close

I have the clear version of this on vinyl and tbh it’s one of my most prized records

Aside from being somewhat rare it’s also one of the most gorgeous packaging jobs I’ve ever seen on a record (the artwork definitely doesn’t hurt though), and to cap it all off the music is just about as good as it’s possible for crescendocore to get

I don't see a tribute to acts of heroism being corny. The depth they put into it certainly shows their dedication and thoughtfulness to the concept. But that's just how I view it.
