I really wish I'd seen them before Yellow/Green came out. I'm sure they still put on a hell of a show and probably sound great, but I really don't care for anything after those albums. Red and Blue are both 4 - 4.5 material to me.

Holy crap guys. I am not really a fan of Baroness. Previously couldn't get into the dude's voice, and found their songs a bit samey. Never gave them a chance.
IF YOU EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE THEM LIVE, DO IT. Best live show I've ever seen. It is so refreshing to watch a live act with so much energy and with legitimate smiles on their faces the whole time. They were enjoying themselves quite a bit, and it really makes the show better. And I want to say that, live, and with good ear plugs to filter out messy treble and distortion, they sound wayyyyy better than on record. Their bass player is absolutely insane. His form is perfect. His lines were so catchy and I was getting this surprising Geddy Lee vibe, which is about the highest praise I can give a bassist. Iron Bell was the single best song I've ever seen performed live.
OH MAN. And their drummer. What a performance. He gave his all for almost 2 hours straight. He's insane.

Yeah dude, band rules live.

Production on this still hurts my soul. Such a damn shame.

Yeah...I ran home and tried listening again and it just didn't click for me. Not solely the production. It all seems a bit stale and like the melodies fall flat.
But, live, they nailed it. So odd.

I can't get enough of this album. 'Shock Me' is one of the most addicting "hit" songs on an album that I've heard in quite a while.
