I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what piece specifically, unless it was created for the album, but that's definitely the style.

Yeah, it's definitely Byzantine iconography. I suspect its just an artificially doctored copy of an original piece.
I'd say Byzantine art is pretty awesome in general though. It's a period I may have to investigate further.

It's definitely cool, but kind of like medieval art, it has a very specific aesthetic that isn't deviated from very much. Generally it's not something I'm as interested in, personally. Byzantine mosaics are very cool though in my opinion.
