I listened to don't panic and thought moar pls
I.e. melancholic, slightly dark pop rock
|
| |
Does their first two fit this description, or do they turn sappy after the openers?

They are going downhill; hope this isn't ther last album. Yet the arrangements somehow brighten up my day and the vocals are still good.

@platonic, if you want the more melancholic, slightly dark pop rock stuff like Don't Panic, their second album is your go-to.

^i dont know what to think of this comment.. i would say that yes new BMTH is on par with this album.. but i also hate you for bringing that album up. but yeah if you like this album, then you'll love "oh no".. damn, now that i think of it, adventure of a lifetime and oh no are the same song.

This really isn't that much of a drop off from Ghost Stories, I contend the hate is hyperbolic

Nah it's not much of a drop off from Ghost Stories, I agree 100%.

First 2 tracks, Adventure Of A Lifetime and Up & Up are good tracks (Particularly Adventure Of A Lifetime, wich I dig quite a lot), other than that, it is a pretty bad record.

"Adventure Of A Lifetime" is definitely the most memorable.

Album is asinine, throwaway twaddle with no iota of passion or channeled turmoil. A laxidasical churned out log thumped onto the conveyer belt leading to blandsville.
To that effect it's the same as 95% of the shite released since 2000 and will undoubtedly be lapped up by the mindless drones who can't wait to capture history on their electronic devices as they gawk at the band from their seat built into the corporate black hole venue of choice these soulless spawn will fill to capacity.

| |
As fucking abysmal as this is it doesn't come close to Passion Pit on the drossometer.

'Drones' is still the most offensively bad, the sort of bad you can't blank out however hard you try - when it's playing my fight or flight response kick in
This is just bland with no redeeming qualities but I can filter it out, even the monkey Kong video
