Mmm no, but it's wonderful that it exists.

Magic & Mayhem is a beautiful addition to their discography and I'm so thankful that it exists. But since it's a compilation, it isn't as cohesive as, say, Silent Waters.

All in all, this one has the most mature song-writing imo. The arrangements are so damn tight and multi-layered. Also, the production is probably the best they ever had, which was a lovely surprise back in the day since Circle had a terrible production.

I generally like Jens Bogren's production but there's some bands he's produced where his overly clean, compressed style just does not work

Eh, people who focus a bit too much just on dynamic range values. Thing is, Bogren makes albums sound very well around DR6, and that's something even one metal-fi article acknowledged, despite having him as some sort of running joke in a few write-ups.

This may trump Silent Waters in my books now, the more I listen to each the more it's clear how much they've evolved. It makes Silent Waters feel so uninteresting now.

Silent Waters is easily their best for me. This is top 3 though.

I really dislike the cleans, the vocalist is good, but I've a problem with cleans in metal if they aren't operatic or rockstyle etc. Someone like Garm is an acceptation

I get him. The cleans border on crooning.
