I haven't really given ADHD a fair chance, I doubt it could surpass SLS though for me. I need to give it another jam.

The first song on ADHD might be my least favorite Riverside song, but it's not bad, and the album improves after that. Some of my issues with ADHD is how over-the-top the vocalist gets, which he only does a little in the previous albums. He pretty much calms down starting with Shrine when they lessened the metal.

ADHD is fuckin sweet, but it does have some cringey moments. I still lol when I hear his voice crack in one of the songs, forget which one.

Yeah I'm gonna have to listen to it too now

There's also the part at 2:28 when he's singing "Didn't expire yesterday" lol

I'd say it's superb. Only casual listeners whine on a lack of complex esthetical hooks instead of digging the given deeper, especially when the given derserves it that much. Stripped down music intentionally highlights the lyrics, and here they are an absolutely adequate, fair and rewarding keypoint. I love how seamlessly and freely the melody rules such deep topics - not an easy thing to do. It's a very thoughtful and consistent conceptual album, and I'm surprised that this fact is often overlooked by fans, for me it was one of the first albums which pushed me to analyze itself thematically, alongside with Karnivool's 'Asymmetry'. It seems like a very just and mature confession of a disillusioned man, but it's not a call to arms, it's rather an appeal to reason, a suggestion to find the strength to accept that there is no fatal disappointment one cannot overcome.

A new album is expected to be released in September. It will be 'post-apocalyptic' in nature, since their world ended two years ago. RIP Piotr

Looking forward to it

On another note, I gave this another listen coincidentally, and I still think it's a bit too chill and tame sounding.

The upcoming album is supposed to be much "darker" and "heavier" in tone, while still maintaining atmospheric soundscapes. Should turn out to be an interesting listen.

New album is going to be called Wasteland and there is a picture but I don't think it's the album cover. Due in September.
