This is the kind of album you can put in the background and still heavily enjoy

shark: absolutely agreed. i did that all day yesterday while doing stuff around the house and playing chess. even now i have it on in the background. super relaxing album, and so creative. jazz is sometimes hard for me to really sink my teeth into but in this case i had no trouble at all.

It took a really long time to fully finish this album after a lot of false starts but I'm glad that I waited to let it sink in. Fantastic album.

this always occupies my attention when it's on, definitely not "background" music to me

I found it worked pretty well. It keeps your mind active and since it's mostly instrumental it doesn't draw away from the writing. Except the part about Malcom X... Had to skip over that because the speech was too distracting

It just dawned on me that I still haven't listened to this. The three hr length keeps me from it.
