i always thought gk was much better than s80 but haven't jammed s80 in a long time so i can't say for certain.

I'm guessing mAAd City is more straight forward than this?
oh yes, much more so.

ah man the spiteful chat is a jam

almost all of s80 is tight, i like it more as a complete work than gkmc but gkmc had better singular songs

maybe just preference with a bit of nostalgia sprinkled in

maad city is really accesible but thats good because i love accesible things
same, re-jamming it hard right now.
i feel like some of these songs arent my thing in the same way You're Dead! wasnt my thing actually
full disclosure, i did not like that album at all :x

How the fuck is there 2 reviews up for this, it hasn't even been out for a full day.

Anyway, listening to this so far is a damn treat. Immediately engaging right off the bat. Might outdo Section.80 for favorite Kendrick album. Need to listen to this quite a few times before I pitch a review.

To the reviewer: you've got a decent blueprint for a review here, you just need to flesh out your opinions. You say the production is excellent, why is it? Flying Lotus created most of the concepts for this album so talk about if it sounds like You're Dead! or not. How does Kendrick rap over the different beats? You say his rapping is some of the best on this album, again why? Is his flow different? Do his lyrics have clever wordplay? Does he address particular social issues? Being the first to review an album doesn't mean anything if the review is half-baked.

"someone on last.fm called this meme rap"

lol, this is the farthest thing from "meme rap".

And this rules so much so far, way better than good kid, m.A.A.d city.
