"Axioma marked the beginning of their return to black metal mixed with progressive, unlike the few before which were mainly just prog metal"

Axioma is less bm than pretty much everything that came before

talons wtr u doin. I remember listening to Isa years ago and it being just bm with some clean vox here and there, so I don't think it was less bm than Axioma. Axioma was full of clean vox power chorusy bs.

Axioma is definitely their return to bm, read the review on here and it'll explain. Vertebrae and Isa have very few bm moments, aside from some of the vocals. Their latest three albums are known to have way more moments of blast beats, screaming, and tremolo picking, but it is modernized, with lots of prog metal elements still present.

Yeah these guys have been pretty much prog metal for around a decade now. Not really a complaint tho since I find they do the whole thing pretty damn fantastic

Also zaru, your current dig seems like it could either be the best thing or the worst thing ever

All their albums are great in their own way, Below The Lights is still their most recently dominantly bm influenced and everything since has mainly been progressive metal

actually I agree with this pretty hard, haven't heard rittiir but the albums I've heard before axioma mostly sounded pretty heavy on the prog compared to this or axioma

Not seeing how Axioma or RUUN could be construed as more black metal than RUUN or Isa.

The 53 minute run time really benefits the album
