they just released a remaster of this, the mantle, and ashes against the grain

they're all up on spotify. a common theme on them I'm seeing is they really evened out the low end to make everything sound a lot more balanced

i'll try the PF remaster, but not sure how I feel about them remastering the mantle. that album's perfect just the way it is

yeah I was skeptical of an Ashes remaster, I've always loved how that sounded

Agree with Atari, I would be skeptical listening to The Mantle. Love how the original one's mixed.

This one mainly got a boost in the bass, sounds pretty good

I think the vocals are a lot clearer too, but I can't really put my finger on why that is

^Those sound like reasonable adjustments. As long nothing obstructs the original atmosphere, I'm good.

oh no, the atmosphere is untouched, they didn't touch the "tone" at all, if you will

That sounds perfect, the atmosphere is great but the snare sound and lack of bass is the only flaw this really has. I'll have to check soon, easily one of my favorite metal albums of the last 20 years.

I'm not interested in hearing any of them remastered tbh.

The Mantle and Ashes sound perfect so I don't see the point in remastering those.

True that, plus this has its own raw charm in how it's mixed.

But still, might as well still indulge a little. I'm going to at least skim them all tonight ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Honestly don't think the remasters sound all that great. The low end is almost overpowering on this
