Pappy, if you're checking solo stuff from Anthony Green, Avalon is where it's at. Waaaay better than beautiful things and whatever the most recent was.

nah Avalon is too long and kind of sloppy although Dear Child is one of his best songs

There's definitely some fat to trim, but god damn it has some of his finest tracks. She Loves Me So, Miracle Sun, Califone, Devil's Song are all better than any track I heard from the next two releases.

I really should revisit the other albums though.

Beautiful Things is his best imo and Pixie Queen from this year was pretty nice. Young Legs is absolutely zzz

Beautiful things had a couple I liked; saw him tour on that album actually. You're right about Young Legs from what I remember, but I didn't even know he had a new album so I better get on that.

Blood Song is his best solo song imo, although I'm relistening Avalon now and it's a fair bit better than I remembered. Pixie Queen is really nice, mostly more folky/acoustic stuff which suits his voice really well imo

That's good to hear, I will have to check it out. Being acoustic-heavy was the main appeal for me on Avalon. I do like Blood Song; it's one of the few songs from that album I kept on there.

the problem with Avalon is similar to what I remembered from when I first jammed it, She Loves me Not and Dear Child start it off on a godly note and all the following songs just do not live up

These guys are touring with mwY and Turnover next month, is this a good place to start? Already big fans of the other two but these guys are the headliners

This is a band where I will always recommend starting from the beginning. Might be biased since Juturna and On Letting Go are my favorites, but I feel like together they are the best intro to the band.

I disagree and will say Blue Sky Noise is the best place to start. Either that or On Letting Go
