Anathema song has super annoying lyrics, but other than that the track is awesome.

That guitar. Live it's even more metal, it's the most metal track they have written since Judgement.

Hopefully they don't get stuck in a rut now and stick to the same formula.

How do they get dat guitar tone on songs like Hindsight and s/t?

Two tracks? One with a pick and the other with ebow?

yeah forgot about pulled, yet the solo is really a great one. I have a bad memory case for memorable solos but I do remember the one from Anathema

thought this was a pretty huge drop-off after weather systems, which was a less compelling we're here.

i think they're all really different. whbwh was a proggy, spacious, adventurous album where they tried to keep the huge thematic approach in weather systems but with more contemporary feel (which failed imo.).

this is them at their most stripped down and contemporary without the theatrics and overblown feeling and i think it works wayyyy better.

Yes, I prefer this over Weather Systems, but not by too much.

Agreed with ranking, disagreed with other statement. I don't find WS annoying or not genuine.

WS is musically brilliant but the lyrics make me gag.

After hearing the last three albums in a row. I can say that this one is the weakest of the three realeses, without that meaning is a bad one. WHBWH is amongst the finest anathema albums at the side of Judgement and a Natural Disaster imo. Weather Systems is great, but it lacks the natural feeling of its predecessor being formulaic at times, but that formula is a damn good one tho.
