well the Exodus trailer introduced me to Midnight and I really liked that, thought about checking out the album, heard Sky Full of Stars, decided not to check it out after all.

Album is maybe the worst Coldplay album to date, but I still admire it for somewhat successfully experimenting with a different genre. Hell, the singles are fantastic.

A 1 is harsh but not to far off. Insipid and incredibly tired album.

I disagree, their first 2 albums felt way more genuine than this, and Viva La Vida was an ambitious and mostly rewarding album as well.
X and Y and Mylo Xyloto are about as insipid agreed, but at least they were not as boring.

Magic, Ink, and the final 3 songs are all interesting enough. And if the whole album sounded like 'Midnight', this would have been incredible. I just think the lack of energy makes this feel tired, and the moments of true creativity (such as Midnight) don't come in long enough spurts to amount to much. Still, if you can get down to a batch of slower atmospheric love songs then this is good.

When Chris goes for his falsetto it almost reminds me of In Rainbows and that can only be a good thing
