Show was fucking sick! Insomnium was stellar. Sadly, they had the mics turned off for about the first 2 minutes of Insomnium, but they rectified it fairly quickly. I also enjoyed a couple of the Seven Spires tracks, and DT was awesome, as usual.

I did try to spot Crysis, but to no avail, especially since Elvenking's logo looks a lot like Ensiferum's logo, and multiple people had Elvenking hoodies on for some reason. Maybe next time! I mistook other dudes for Crysis multiple times! lol

I enjoyed the show quite a bit. I'm fairly certain I saw you as I saw a guy wearing a DT hat with a blade runner shirt but you were across the room from me.
Loved Insomnium, even though their set was exclusively newer stuff. I plan to do a writeup about the show this weekend on the blog.

Did they play anything of AtWW? I heard they like to play the newer songs more than the old ones as you mentioned.

Awwww - I wish you would have said Hi! I just kept an eye out for your hoodie but didn't roam around the place looking or anything. Too busy raging out to metal! I wore the shirt thinking you might put it together I was the same guy from Sput. ;)
@Kusa - They played The Gale and Mortal Share as a lil encore. That's all I recall from AtWW.

So it was you haha I should have said hey, but instead I decided to be greedy and keep my position in the
second row.
Correct, The Gale and Mortal Share were the only ones from AtWW
On an unrelated note: fuck crowd surfers. I'm gonna rant a bit in my blog post about that.

Wow that's kind of a bummer. Not sure if I even wanna see them now... (yeah, I'm a choosy little bitch)
I've never experienced crowd surfing during any show ever, but I bet it's disturbing and distracting as hell.

I had to jump in front of a little chick that was about 5'1" tall to keep her from getting clobbered at one point; took a shoe to the head for my trouble. I stood in the same place last year and got a beer dumped on my chest by a crowd surfer then. So yeah, fuck them.

It's literally the most annoying thing for both the crowd and the band. I was in the second row and it seemed like I spent more time hoisting these stupid fucks to the stage and catching them when they stage dove than I did jamming to DT. Some guys (and girls) literally did it 10 times, and it seemed to annoy DT toward the end.

I have ALWAYS been vehemently biased towards their old stuff as I love it dearly, but do not miss the chance to see them live.

It appears I cannot delete my own double post/mis-click - Perhaps a mod/staffer can smite it for me? ;)
@Kusa: Insomnium kicked ass, and is totally worth seeing live.

It can be annoying but if you let something like that stop you from going to shows you'll be missing out in the long run

Yeah, this is why I'm glad my venue usually bans it. Although it's a little bittersweet because it can be a lot of fun when people try to show a little etiquette (ie: you do it once or twice and then let others have their fun, control your fucking limbs and for fucks sake don't go up with a drink)

I don't care when there's only a few, but at this show it was the same exact people going up over and over and over and over. It was the same when DT played this venue last year, as it is the small upstairs stage of a larger venue and set up in a way where there is no gate and no security up front.

Thanks!
Last year, Stanne even surfed a couple times, but this year, you could clearly see him starting to get annoyed... That room is too small for multiple shitheads to attempt walking (you see that chick try to walk on people's heads??) and surfing on the crowd - they basically hit everyone in the crowd with their feet and asses.
|
| |
Yeah our venue is tiny (350-400 people) so it can't really handle that much crazyness. Although they made an
exception for the Origin/Gorguts show and holy fuck was that a blast

Yeah I was one of the people she tried to walk on. My friend who was next to me got kicked in the face and
shattered his glasses.

This one was maybe half that if I had to guess.

I'll be seeing DT/Insomnium on Saturday, can I expect to hear much from Damage Done/Character/Fiction?

Yeah, they're playing together with Ensiferum and Omnium Gatherum so I'd be an idiot not to attend that show honestly. I missed them last time with CoB and was pretty repentant about that.
Hopefully there won't be any drunk fucks that ruins the fun as well ;) I mean I wouldn't mind a few crowd surfers, but when it gets to the point where they annoy both the band and crowd they should just be thrown out by the guards.
