His new stuff is considerably more introverted which isnt a bad thing, i just enjoy the subject matter here more, in general.

Cool video of Lupe praising Aesop Rock that I found pretty dope. Been revisiting this one and Bazooka Tooth lately. Both classics for underground/more experimental style hip hop imo. Have a hard time choosing which is my favorite of his between the two of them

I've only heard his later stuff (and love it) but have always put off his early stuff. This is trending toward a 4.5 easy tbh.

nice bump!

album is the fucking holy bible for abstract hip-hop

my favorite performance from Aes too, even after all these years. this is him at his most incisive, perceptive, clever, and confrontational - and once you learn his language, it's such a fucking thrill to listen to.

honestly, few albums have influenced the way that i think, see the world, and get through life as much as this one. will probably get a tattoo someday

9-5ers Anthem is prob one of my favorite aes tracks of all time

I can see how this is an album that influences how one thinks and percieves the world for sure

What line or part of the artwork would you consider getting tattooed?

"spittin 40-plus a week and tryin to rape earth in my off time! you bored dizzy, i can't keep myself busy enough, so you can run run run and ima let you think you've won!"

i was thinking like a bigger version of just the "work" symbol with the gears, and then the "Labor Days" tag from the album cover underneath

Hell yeah bro. I'm covered on a lot of my body. Haven't got one in a few years though. Pain tolerance is getting lower as I get older lol. Enjoy it!!

Music for Earthworms is great lyrically, but the production is pretty basic. you can definitely tell it's his first. Appleseed is a HUGE step up from that, which is crazy cuz he made it completely on his own in his bedroom with a super basic sampler lol. the beats are so huge, fresh, and immersive tho.

my faves from Float are probably Big Bang (that's my pick for his best hook), Fascination, Oxygen and Prosperity. Big Bang and Oxygen are top 10 Aes tracks for me. Honestly I always wished he played around a bit more with that spoken-word/character-playing/sudden-jump-to-a-new-melody stuff that he does on Oxygen and Prosperity. he's really good at it and it really helps break up the songs/adds a lot more distinction

I need to hear Earthworms nonetheless because aes is probably one of my favorite rappers if not my favorite. I should also revisit Float soon too. You always have interesting takes on the aes threads, cylinder and im all here for it!

I must also mention my love for No Regrets. The storytelling on that one and his performance is just perfect
