So are the singles a good indication of the quality / sound direction of the album? I didn't really dig the title track off of
this that much and found Suburbs kinda meh except for a few tracks but I still am hanging on to some kinda hope for
these guys.

There are a number of distinct sounds on the albums, from guitar driven post punk rockers to synth heavy new wave tracks. It is overall a very diverse album. Give it a listen and find out for yourself whether or not you like it.
