it reads like he listened to the album once and then just wrote about how the fanbase is made up of COD playing teens and this is the kind of music that appeals to them as opposed to making many valid points about the music

'THAT'S the album cover? i recall it being cooler than that...'
Well I'm not sure about 'cool' but all the fans went berserk at the last proposed one so they changed it to this boring snoozefest of a cover

andcas, not a drummer are you? There's no getting through to you, you are too caught up with the Rev and Portnoy, and not ready to bring in a guy who isn't the original (The Rev) or a legend (Portnoy) the band is who chose him! They know his skill level they could get A LOT of different drummers, but they chose Arin out of the thousands they could have chosen. Everyone will play things differently, the only reason that everyone loved having Portnoy, is because HE'S MIKE FUCKING PORTNOY, he's a legend! unbelievable drummer. So no matter how he did something it's going to be great, that's just him. But as soon as it's someone who doesn't have a resume like Portnoy or a legacy like Jimmy, no matter who it was they would've been judge heavily. But you people need to get passed it and realize that Arin is a great drummer!

'If' he's a great drummer then he's being made to play below his means because that's what the band wants/think that's what their fans want. That's both insulting to him AND insulting to the fans

No, what they wanted was drums that weren't complicated but that just punched through the tracks, like early metal drums, not drums with lots of notes and fills, but made to fit the music

Actually I own everything they've ever put out. Listen to every album frequently, don't get what you're trying to get at with saying I just got into them?
