Depends on the song. Future warrior and arctic handshake are done pretty spectacularly as far as I'm concerned. But yea, somewhere in the middle things get a bit muddy.

Well I don't think it's "actual dogshit" like kev over here but it certainly could use some improvement.

a damn shame, too, cuz these songs are actually dope. at some points I had to turn the volume down on my headphones because the highs were too sharp.

I love this album so much. It's a lot like In the Absence of Truth, which gets an unfair bad rap from ISIS fans, but with cleaner vocals from Chino. Can't wait for more Palms! I'd prefer a new ISIS album, but that's pretty much not going to happen at this point. I'll take Palms instead!

If this was just a normal band without Chino as the singer and no ties to Isis, this album would’ve easily garnered under a 3 avg.

So basically you’re saying that is this album was another band, it would have gotten worse reviews. What??????

This is great but would be even better if it were remastered and sounded less tinny

Fantastic album. Mission Sunset is a masterpiece. Future Warrior and Antarctic Handshake are amazing as well.

This is were gone downhill for them as musicians. Sumac beats this shit easily. Maybe this is a good album for fans of Chino, but not of an Isis.

Unfortunately i love both this and the stuff of both bands, but Sumac sounds like white noise to me. It's sounds like a less interesting pre-Oceanic Isis with even more brutality i guess

I'll give it credit for the obvious musicianship that these guys bring to the table but the music itself couldn't be more unappealing for me. Celestial did that style much better imo

^Same. Actually I just gave this a listen right after finishing Ohms and it clicked out of nowhere. I still have some issues with the production but it seems this got better with time for me. Might bump to a 4 eventually.

Album felt pretty boring at first, but I gave it a few more listens, and I'm starting to really feel some of the songs on here.
