I'm changing mine to a 4. It sounds like you only gave this 1-2 listens. I only say that because I had a simlar opinion. I thought the 2nd half stood out more and had a bit more variation.
After listening to it 10 plus times, I can't believe that I thought the 2nd half stood out. I absolutely love the 1st half and think the 2nd half is okay. It also doesn't blend together and sound similar like I first thought.
The flow of the first 5 songs is perfect. Listening to Closure/Rebirth and The Path afterward is just awesome. The lyrics give a powerful punch and are definitely filled with deep meaning and a lesson to be learned.
"Wait, wait for the storm, of all the memories you thought you could ignore. They will come back, just like the whore." Oh yea! "How deeply did you let go?"

Great album. These guys just came to Rutgers to play a show last week, and it was insane. Got to interview them, also.
