Is that the one with the song with like 50 F words in it?

After listening to the whole album, I remember absolutely nothing from it.

Album Rating: 3.5
There isn't any "absolutely nothing from it" track on that album.

I really don't get the hate for this album (I mean, its not great. I wouldn't have given it a 2.5 otherwise). But honestly I think if any of the big 4 were gonna go nu-metal, Slayer were the ones who could have actually pulled it off. Cause we all know what happened when Metallica tried it...

stain of mind is so fucking dope forever

Bitter Peace is a great opener

Perversions of Pain kinda slaps

Boring album, thrash and nu-metal are like water and oil, they are not miscible, period.
I remember Metal Hammer Hellas collectively lauding this back in the day, whereas Divine Intervention and Undisputed Attitude were largely treated as footnotes…
The fun fact was that at some point in the naughts, this started to sell at a steep discount in CD form.

The trifecta! Divine, this, and undisputed all up and down the front page today

^^Agreed
The only thing that has merit here, is the sound work.

Post Seasons Slayer just never did it for me. The shift in atmosphere was just too much. I never liked the later material until they tried to regain their form again with Christ Illusion. Even God Hates Us All, despite a few good songs, kinda sucks.

Christ Illusion was the last great Slayer album.
This, one the other hand, does not even hold a candle to quality nu/groove metal like every Grip Inc. album and Sepultura's Chaos A.D. and Roots Bloody Roots.

1000% correct

I want to like this but I can't. God Hates at least had some memorable tracks. And yes, Christ Illusion was the last good album

slayer going nu metal actually tracks logically as a further extension of their slower and more groovy stuff. this is next up for me so i am at least curious.

oof this is honestly kind of embarrassing lol

eh i softened a little after a few listens after the initial shock lol. overt enemy and desire though, wow. two songs as bad as anything on st anger. really cringe. the vocal effects are so bad and tom trying to be chino lol. definitely embarrassing.
the rest ranges from ok to pretty fun. can't deny stain of mind is a jam, bounces so hard. some of this really needs some turntables lol. lots of cool moments for tom's bass to shine in this style. bitter peace feels like a divine b-side in a good way, scrum really solid crossover jam as well. love to hate is corny nu metal fun. pretty stupid and funny slayer is doing it, but for what it is, kind of entertaining. product of the times, could definitely be a lot worse.
