The only thing Metallum is good for is the expansive database of bands nobody has ever heard of before, so you can find at least some info on them. The mods guidelines are horrendous and yeah the users are pretty fucking stupid

A lot of the metallum guys are like robots to me:
IF good production SAY bad
IF boring traditional metal SAY good
IF popular SAY mallcore
IF generic death metal SAY good

"IF good production SAY bad"
to be fair, clean production can ruin some metal albums

and vice versa. production is too broad to talk as a catch-all. tone and clarity is huge in metal for sure tho.

It's been ages since I've listened to this and I'm in love all over again. In fact, I'm certain I've only heard the OG release before, and I think this is my first couple spins of the remaster. There's a huge difference and going back and forth, though both are completely listenable, I'm loving this new one more. Actually this album is clicking with me wayyyyy more than before and it's starting to become my new favorite Meshuggah.

To this day I sill prefer the original. I think I just spent too long with it and had it become so ingrained in me that the remaster just feels off
