Woah yeah the DC EP is crazy, especially the last two songs. Really liked the Will to Death too and right now I'm digging Inside of Emptiness way more than I did the first time I listened to it. Man is a machine.

Yeah man dunno why but Emptiness bored me on first listen but it's going pretty hard now. Love when Frusciante starts basically screaming, he sounds fantastic.
|
| |
yeah dude the screams on 666 rock
up to much tonight man?

Yeah 666 is off the chain, especially that part around 2 minutes when he does that long inhale before he starts screaming.
Nah I'm doing shitall which is why I decided to jam all his records front-to-back, nothing else to do. You?

Lol I know the feeling, on holidays now but I've barely done anything for two weeks cos I'm so damn lazy. Ah well, as long as I find some new music I feel like I've at least accomplished something.

| |
yeah exactly music is life

Pretty much yeah. Cheers again for showing me Elliott Smith, fulfilled my sense of accomplishment for this holidays. You end up going through Jimmy's records man?

Sweet man, and Chase This Light isn't too bad either despite what people say, it's just a bit more pop-oriented.
What did you think of the first two? I always thought the s/t was pretty sloppy and demo-like but it isn't half bad for a first effort. And Static Prevails just destroys.
|
| |
can't remember any individual songs yet but s/t was raw and rough around the edges and a lot of fun... static prevails straight up kicked my arse

Yeah s/t is just a fun listen even if it was their worst. IMO most of the best tracks like Chachi and Patches are in the first half but Scientific is in the second half and pretty much the best track on the whole thing so yeah. No weak tracks on SP for me, love it so much. Adkins fucking goes crazy on some tracks like Thinking and World is Static, I wasn't expecting that from the guy that sung on Bleed American and Futures at all.
|
| |
haha yeah i remember being a bit taken aback by his ferocity cos he's relatively chilled on their later stuff
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.4
Haha yeah on the later stuff he pretty much focuses his anger onto his lyrics; he writes some pretty scathing stuff here and there, but his vocals are mostly chilled. That's what makes Static Prevails so surprising though, particularly those two songs I mentioned, he just fucking goes for it. Love it though, Thinking, That's All is one of my favourite openers.
If you dig that style they were going for, Tom sings one song on Clarity, Blister, which is more or less along the same lines. Also there's a bonus track for Clarity, Christmas Card, which sounds like it was taken from the same sessions for SP, it's fierce as fuck. Get it if you can man.

| |
yeah dude like i said i'll be spinnin all those a lot in the next few weeks so no doubt i'll be familiar w everything very soon! will track down xmas card for sure

Sweet. Hopefully I can say the same for Frusciante and ES, wanna get to know their discographies thoroughly, but we'll just have to wait and see how motivated I am to listen to them frequently. Will be spinning both again at some point for sure though.
|
| |
yeah man so much music so little time!
