will say tho some of this is kinda held back by the choruses. i like shane's voice and appreciate the thrice vibes it comes along with but his melodies get a bit generic around like tracks 8/9

generally balanced out by micah being a fantastic vocalist tho

Yea the cleans are why I can never fully get on board with these guys, cus the hooks arent really anything special.

The ones on the album after this are so much worse. Completely undercuts songs like Decimation & Burial

I really like Shane's vocal work in Wovenwar. I think that's the only reason I have had this on the backburner after I found out this was his main

Yeah I love his voice but it just doesn't mesh well on a lot of these songs. Thanks for the reminder about Wovenwar. Haven't spun them in a long time.

Their first album is a lotta fun. Very nicely done clean core

Their second album is good, too. I am glad they messed with their formula a bit, even if it didn't turn out quite as good as the S/t, I still enjoy it

I want to say I have listened to random bits of these guys and I don't remember a lot of clean singing. I know I remember thinking Micah was a beast, tho

I'm listening to In The Wake of Pigs rn and its like damn these verses are fucking DOPE and the guitarwork is amazing but the chorus comes in and it sounds like some cheesy early 2000s rockband shit.

Micah's one of the best in the game imo. He's got some lol worthy lows though in their latest. Unless it's not actually him, because it doesn't really sound like it.

Revisiting this at the moment, one of the best metalcore albums of all time. Filled to the brim with fucking riffs.
