Dunno about that man. Purple were much more adventurous than Rainbow but as far as prog metal is concerned I think Uriah Heep were even more influential than both of those bands.

Yeah I agree with that too UH were the most influential for me, but DP mostly used organ, while Rainbow experimented a lot more with synths, seriously, Tarot Woman's prog as hell
