Well, butkuiss is accomplishing to get exactly where i was trying to get to. Djent done right can

create a great atmosphere, that's the best kind that i've experienced. Monuments are good technically,

i've said before in this thread. But it lacks character in the end. Sounds like something almost any

technically able djent band could (and would) do.

Idk how you guys could say this is "emotionally sterile" if Matt's performance isn't emotional and sincere, I don't know what the hell is.

Because emotion can only be generated by a vocalist?

Matt's slightly better than the rest of the band but it's not like he's Daryl Palumbo or anything.

Lol.

This is a stalemate argument. We will have our opinions.

I love both Fellsilent and Monuments, equally.

I don't know what to tell you man. If anything, this is less sterile than the new Tesseract.

Don't get me started on the new TesseracT. I've just resigned myself to the fact they'll never top Lament or April.

I don't know. Maybe this will explain what I'm trying to say better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmJbJs-9ST0

I definitely don't think this is emotionally sterile or I just plain wouldn't like it. I ca't stand emotionally dead music. New tesseract isn't really doing anything for me - and I think for that reason

i'm just gonna stick my foot in the door and say this: the spoken word turned scream from matt during the start of the song degenerate is absolutely killer and REEKS of emotion.

New Tesseract has lost a lot. Of everything, really.

Now I have seen everything. Rose's vocal performance as an actual upside of this record? He's your average joe screamer and singer on the album and... have you heard the guy live? Opinions are opinions and yadda yadda, but.. really?

Well exactly zuzek. I don't really find a lot to praise about his input on this either.

Because his live vocals are what counts. Guess what, Jake Luhrs sucks ass live from ABR, I've seen them three times live. A lot of vocalists suck live. Who gives a shit?

it makes me appreciate a vocalist a lot more if they sound as good/better live

every metal vocalist should take notes on akerfeldt

I would never see them live anyways, I live in the US and they never come here.

This is a great album. People who hate this but like Periphery and shit are just doing it out of spite.
