"Jamie, have you heard any of his other work?"

I've heard Collapse, Road to the North and bits of the latest one.

"Correct me if I am wrong, Jamie, but I also think using offensive in that way is a more British turn of phrase. Considering your spelling "favoured" and my experience (not extensive but more than most Americans) of British English I think this might be a factor in the discussion at hand."

You are not wrong, I am British, and yes maybe that is a factor.

when it came out it was pretty much universal apathy or dislike (even I am guilty of this to a degree), dunno how much that has really changed

Well, I still think it's haphazard and clashes awkwardly (e.g. that flute) but I don't think it's a terrible album.

I mean, the musical components aren't all bad - they might just have done more for me if they were arranged and executed differently.

I find it really entertaining and fresh. There's something to be said for that, at least as far as what I like to listen to.

maybe

insufferable or not, you can understand the decision, as the whole album was about poverty stricken appalachian coal mining, and pennywhistles were the only instruments they were able to afford
