“good EP yeah” - it’s 7 minutes longer than reign in blood

I actually deliberated on whether I should type "good EP yeah" or "good album yeah" and knew I was going to catch shit no matter which one I chose.

All good. My point is it should be categorized as an LP. And one of the best extreme metal LP’s ever

I mean, it is an EP technically lol.

But yeah, any release with Queen of Winter, Throned on it is a 4 at minimum.

I have such a huge history with this release. After Principle I waited for this and got the cd as soon as I find it. In the sleeve was a cacophonous records flyer with all their other acts at the time and that’s I found out about Bal-Sagoth, Primordial and Sigh. This completely blew my mind and Queen of winter throned is still m favorite song of all time. I was obsessed with Stuart’s playing and Barker’s drumming and the whole atmosphere created. Not long after they released Dusk which upped the ante again. That happy they’re still going strong

I had the same thing bro! I had all the photos from the sleeves hanging on my walls when I was in high school lmao. Man, those were good times. I miss getting into all of these albums for the first time. Really shaped my music taste as a whole.

I'm defo digging this. Probably a lil more than Dusk / Cruelty. Close as all are pretty solid. I'm interested to see how Midian holds up.

I came to this (& CoF in general) very late and it confused the hell out of me, I was expecting something really tame or absurdly gimmicky... guess some (wrong) people would still argue the second descriptor applies to this band. Metal is theatrical often, get over it.
