This album/band changed my life. I was only listening to Nu-Metal shit before this as a young pubescent teen. Then I heard My Last Serenade. It was the first time I really heard a song with screaming in it, and was not feeling it at all. Then the chorus came and I was hooked. The singing/screaming thing was awesome to me. The guitar leads were sick. It was just the perfect mix of heaviness and melody.
Killswitch pretty much started the whole Melodic Metalcore thing, of which bands are still ripping off. They were an Americanized In Flames, who I got into soon after. Adam D produced Unearth, Shadows Fall, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, and others to solidify the Melodic Metalcore sound.
So yea this is a 5. A classic in the metalcore genre IMO.
