Yeah same, I was numbed by the first 2 to 3 listens. I just didn't really know what to think. But it's all coming together, as it turns out, it's a great album.

Giving up the Ghost is probably the best Bon Iver song radiohead has ever put out.

Also, when radiohead was claiming this album was their best yet, i was giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming they weren't just trying to hype this up, because they're radiohead and they probably don't need much more hype than what comes naturally. But i find it really hard to believe that they honestly think that, because not only is it very clearly not their best album, but it doesn't really even sound like they were trying to make an album that would be their best.

So I'm just going to assume that all you amateur conspiracy buffs who are convinced that 2 vinyls on the physical release must mean a part 2 no nothing about vinyl. A 10' vinyl holds about 4 songs, that's 2 on each side. And last time I checked 4x2 still equals.....drumroll please.....that's right, 8!

burial comparison is generally overblown and if anyting magpie is more beatles-esque than codex,

though i think both are a stretch.

in terms of first impressions, they rarely change drastically (3.5 to 4.5 is the biggest possible jump

i'd say in either direction), but with more listens, undeniably your ability to articulate how you

feel goes up significantly. and you managed to convey everything you felt without absolutes or

anything definitive so ... impeccable writing

Hmm I'm surprised there aren't more than 3 reviews for this already. I'll be checking this out soon.

So apparently Thom Yorke only follows 5 people on twitter, and one of them posted this earlier today.

"Suppressing my disappointment that 'Present Tense' didn't make it to the new album.... yet"

says he's following 2 people for me... phil selway... and thom yorke lol

edit: nevermind i wasn't looking at thom's twitter, ma bad. sweet!

I'll keep this at a four for now, but I see it getting that extra .5 pretty easily. Hard to deem a classic just because it seems like such a short offering, but if they retaliate with some crazy expansion onto this that opens the album up even more, I can totally see this being an epic record. Let's just hope.

alright, i've done 3 straight listens, i still don't like the first 2 tracks. they're just unmemorable, and they sound just a bit too much the same. I really don't get the connection to the Beatles for Good Morning Mr. Mag Pie...

but the songs i'm digging have to be Little By Little, Codex, and Seporator.

the live version that mr yorke did by himself of giving up the ghost sounds almost exactly like the album version, so it does feel like a thom yorke solo album in some respects
