I think they are just rounding out their many styles, each album is different and people need to get used to not having any idea what to expect from their releases. And there are many moments on Pale Folklore where the guitar hits a note that makes me shake my head.

You're right, but I don't know...the songs here are good, but it doesn't really have an emotional atmosphere like their other albums.

You just gotta stop comparing it to the other albums. If you do that then I think the atmosphere will be just fine for you. I agree it's not up to par with the other ones, but you just gotta take it for what it is.

this is the only agalloch album that had to grow on me. I loved ashes even more on first few listens than i do so now.
