we still need a term to specify good black metal and why fix what still works :P

i have the ash borer split. just too many bands doing that shoegazy/post-rocky black metal fad atm.

Thranenkind is pretty good. Nothing special, but I enjoy them.

I've never listened to Thranenkind, so I couldn't say. But for a while I had QfB as a 5.

Neige has done one really good album and then the rest of his stuff is pretty mediocre (Souvenirs being the one really cool album).

La Sanie des siècles and the new Alcest are pretty tight, but i will agree the man is incredibly overhyped.

The new Alcest is amazing. One of my favorite of the year. I haven't really heard anything from Neige outside of Alcest so I can't really say whether he's overhyped or not.

new alcest is cool but id take Les Discrets over it personally
