That and the end of Awake/Avenge or my two favorite parts of the album. Just glorious riffage all the way until the end.

He doesn't accept any other opinions when it comes to Thrice. Idk I just see Vhessiu as being much much better than this.

idk earlier thrice is just so much more moving than their post-vheissu stuff, but still good

I understand why people like vheissu, anyone who likes post-metal and slow-burning "epic" shit would eat it up. for all the shit i give vheissu fans, i get it, i promise, i'm just justifying to y'all why i like this more, but in a very rude fashion.

but artist is nowhere near as good as this. this has really cool sidewinder repeat structures most of the time, while artist adheres pretty rigidly to verse-chorus structure. There are more riffs by sheer quantity here, and the riffs are of better quality. plus the production on artist is more polished, and they lose a little bit of the raw energy they had here in exchange for a more corporate sound.

chinesewhispers what do you posit as best thrice?

this definitely has more energy than artist but i find this to be a little sloppy at times. not saying that's always a bad thing when it's about punk music but that's the major reason why i enjoy artist more. not by much tho

@daniel It was Vheissu for the longest time, but nowadays I can't pick between TAI, Beggars or M/M

Thrice does mellow better than heavy imo
