Not quite for me LG... I will stick with my original rating. But I have decided it is above Foals for my AOTY so far.
nychicano, is there some kind of opposite day going on today or something.
It's just building up the anticipation, isn't it Roms?

Ad, I'm Davey. DeSylvia is Dave. Don't confuse the system.
Downer, it seems we will never connect on musical taste. I thought this album may have finally bridged the gap, but it seems not. :-(

I was gonna type davey then I thought about my well being
that said, I thought this would be great, what with some of my favorite people digging this, but for whatever reason it's just not exciting me

"what with some of my favorite people digging this" I'm going to go into a delusional state & immediately presume this group includes myself.
"ec is crazy this is great!" No chambered, it's excellent... Now please resolve this issue.

Seriously though. I get moist whenever I hear Invaders or Vulturehood.

And I didn't have either of those songs in my top 5 (even if they only just missed out). It just goes to show that there is genuine depth to this album.

I think I enjoy "Dead Nationale" the most, the reversed guitar lines are sweet.

Those 2 songs were probably the most immediate for mine & were my intial top 2. Then the magic of 'Marigold' hit. Now, the magic of 'Hunters' is really starting to sink in.
That's the thing with this album. It's not only immediate, but it definitely has a growing factor. Albums which can balance those 2 characteristics are rare.

these are some excellent tunes, particularly the sequence of lung full of light through marigold, but i dk i just can't get that emotionally invested in the songs themselves (save for tripping over your eyes which is way too short)

pretty much agree, but i find some mellowness in it. i'd call it more a VIBE than an emotion, but it kicks me quite a bit.

Ok, that was freaky... After I saw your review the other day Adam, I was just thinking I should remind you to listen to this. Obviously, there was no need. Glad you liked it mate. I think what you meant to say was "It's no The Blackout!" LOL.
thatoneguy, if you're anywhere but Australia, you won't find this in a store. I don't think they have even organized to release it overseas. If you are in Oz, it should be easily ordered in.
Hmm, interesting point Rudy & I think I do know where you're coming from. Adam answered you perfectly... It's more of a vibe. For example; the drumming in the opener. The tempo changes in 'Hunters', etc...
