you have the most generic taste in metal imaginable dude
go 4.5 every Morbid Angel album thinking they're all better than Reign in Blood
|
| |
generic taste in metal yet you only have 2 metal albums 5'd which are far more common and generic than mine.
I never compared Morbid Angel to Slayer, that's all on you. I have however compared slayer to slayer and HA and SNM are def better than RiB.
@park you spent 6-7 years on sputnik yet you don't know what sub genres are? wth were you doing on this site then?

viking metal is not a genre
it has no bearing on the music itself, only the lyrics

You don't have to compare anything, the fact that you think anything by them after Covenant is better than RiB is already embarrassing by itself. Liking Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy more is acceptable, but 5'ing them and then giving a 2 to RiB doesn't make any sense.
Also i couldn't care less what you like and what you don't, but from what i've seen you're the one shitting on others taste in like every metal thread

The metal purist gimmick stopped being interesting in 1984.
People like this tend to have very predictable opinions, which in themselves aren't the problem - it's just pairing them with a total lack of social skills that becomes offputting.

I think i'm arguing with the two most stubborn people on this whole site at the same time, wonderful.
"viking metal is not a genre

I didn't say it's a genre but it's a sub genre, I'd argue that there's a very distinct sound to viking metal not just the lyrical content.

Once again, i'm not comparing them, just because you compare different genres that have no relation to each other doesn't mean everyone else does. I rate within a genre, death metal is compared to death metal, black metal is compared to black metal, etc etc. You have a lot of ratings that make no sense to me but you don't see me bitching about it.

for real guys, sputnik is inherently a futile battleground for ego battles, and this is a legendary album that turned 31 within the past "very recent span of time", so can we please just channel our mutual "cognitive dissonance" into just basking in the riffs and atmosphere of this glorious utterance of supreme perfection of cosmic sound?
