Yep, they said during their Bonnaroo set that they hadn't toured for a while as they have been putting the finishing touches on their new LP. They played 2 new songs & both sounded pretty darn good to me.

yeah i checked out some new songs on youtube (handshake and moon something) and they sounded great. maybe a little more straight-forward alt-rock than indie pop. the moon song had some awesome guitar work. i'm fairly confident they've still got it. can't wait for this album. edit: still think this deserves more than 3.5 btw. the most fun i've ever had listening to music. sometimes it's ok for music to throw away pretentiousness and aspirations to be "art", and just be fucking fun. i couldn't tell you how many times my friends and i have danced like lunatics in each other's kitchens listening to each and every song on this album. definitely a classic for those reasons.

Just heard those two new songs and I definitely agree they sound a lot more straight forward. Perhaps there will be a little more magic on the studio versions but so far they don't seem to top any songs on this album.

not sure if im a fan of how electronic the guitars sound. still sounds great though. will reserve judgement til the album is out. sept 3rd cant come quick enough.

I'm loving the idea that there may be even more electronics than on this album. I was worried that it was all gone.

probably worse than every song on their debut, but still a very good song.

A bit harsh... New album will definitely be interesting with regards to the winning formula vs innovation balance.

maybe its better than do you want it all. either way its a great song, ive had it on repeat god knows how many times. there was an interview on radio 1 and they said the new album is quite a bit different and sleep alone is kind of a transition track. i see what they mean as its more straightforward and less focus on bouncy guitars. apparently there are even some slower, more deep and melancholy somgs towards the end of the album. but who knows what melancholy means to them.

They're getting rapid at preventing these "exclusive preview acquisitions"...
