I just threw on Haven a few days ago and was surprised by how much better it is than I remembered. It's definitely their simpilest album, but the melodies and the drum parts are some of their most distinctive.

Shadow Of Our Blood is pretty good too and that one song that starts out with goth-like synths and great clean singing. But yeah I pretty much agree (well, I don't dislike this, but it's just so average)

I still think this album is a very good one. With nothing less than the past releases. Very inspired, well done. The fact that has more melody in it still hasn't lost nothing from Dark Tranquillity. I don't think the almost omnipresent keyboards are a problem, it just increasing the dark atmosphere of the album. Sorry for my english!

I think this is DT's worst effort since The Mind's I. Nevertheless, I like the music on this album. They're clearly in their comfort zone here when offering trademark DT songs, but that also means they're less innovative. As a whole 'We Are the Void' doesn't offer anything new. Only Arkhangelsk and Iridium are breaking the formula. I know this band can do much better than this. Hopefully DT will update their sound on the next album.

The Mind's I is so unappreciated.

This wasn't an understatement for The Mind's I. More like so, that everything between Projector and Fiction are pretty neat, and WAtV doesn't meet those standards. I actually like The Mind's I more than The Gallery.

I agree that WAtV doesn't meet their previous albums standards. Every Dark Tranquillity album is great. I just hate the fact that The Mind's I is always classified as one of their worst albums. I don't think the production quality is as good as most of their other albums, but the riffs and song writing are superb on that album.
