the reason being is that if they accepted regular user reviews then every crappy music review blog out there would be yelling for their reviews to be on metacritic
True that, glad to see we are finally on there though.

I said "The review by CRYSIS is much better, LESS biased", not that the staff review was particularly BIASED.
I consider the review from Crysis to give a genuine HONEST genuine opinion of the album, however I do consider that the staff reviewer appears to have a slight (?) prejudicial negative slant.
Sorry for being a "moron" and actually expressing an opinion!

if you state that one is less biased than the other than you are insinuating that the other is biased, so your first statement is a contradiction.
secondly, you haven't given any reason as to how the staff review is prejudiced other than the fact that it is a low rating for an otherwise highly rated album.

No I am insinuating that one review reads a being completely impartial and the other appears to have a SLIGHT negative bias / prejuduce. That isn't stating that one of the reviews is completely BIASED.

It was a really wierd review, Im pretty sure the guy who reviewed it has dosen't have much of a clue about contemporary metalcore and sorta had to cover it up by droping many old school hardcore and metal bands as he could conjure. I mean it was actaully a good review, it just felt like it was written from the wrong perspective.

Converge, Cave In, Neurosis, and Genghis Tron are all directly involved with the album, they shouldn't count as name dropping.
|
| |
How did they mention Metallica and Megadeth and not Slayer? I mean Slayer had a direct influence on these guys.
