"If you don't like Blackwater Park you don't like minimalism. It's as simple as that. "

Please, I feel nauseas.

The review: you made some points which I totally disagree with, but you backed them up extremely well.

Kudos for mentioning Leper Affinity. The first paragraph was too long and kind of unnecessary. Would

have been better to break up your review into proper sentences.

I understand your points pretty well, used to think the same of this album. This isn't the kind of music that's going to haunt your head once the listening is over, it's too complicated for that. But for the time when I'm listening to this album, I get blown away. It's growing on me very fast. I'm not gonna give this a five though, it's more 4,5-ish to me.

I am a big Opeth fan, but your first paragraph pretty much sums up how I feel about them at this juncture. At first when I listened to them I thought amazing, but then after awhile you move on and discover more music. Then you realize that maybe they are not as great as you thought they were.

They still are one of the better bands in the genre. They have a great number of albums in their repertoire to listen to. I won't discredit their work, but there is much more music out there.

pretty much don't agree with anything you've said here... but it's well written and argued.

don't like this album. I find most prog drawn out and bland. this is no exception.
2 minute riff
growl
2 more minutes of riff
acoustic
more riff
growl

I'm gonna forget about Opeth. I admire them and I don't question their talent or music, but it just doesn't work for me.
