Interesting to hear how dry this is produced. It's a pretty raw sound, given the genre.

There was one dude in high school who used to bug me incessantly to listen to this and just to spite him I never did.
Anyway after enjoying Romy’s solo record and historically liking Jamie’s solo stuff I gave this a whirl and wow it’s underwhelming

Final thoughts: there is a line between underwritten and minimalist and I don’t think they’re on the side they think they are

Oooops I forgot this even existed. Loved it back in the day, never come back to it any more.

wow this aged HORRIFICALLY. these guys and passion pit ended up being a massive precursor to the vile indie pop scene of the 10’s, much to both of their detriment. shame

Okay but Intro is still perfect...
|
| |
I still like Passion Pit though, Moth’s Wings is a great song

yeah intro rules and islands is still a tune, but the rest is like one notch above the aural equivalent of watching paint dry
passion pit is cool. gossamer, in particular, is an exceptionally nostalgic album for me and i could never hate on it, even if it is cheesy as fuck.

Yeah Moth’s Wings, My Girls and Snow Days by Real Estate were what 09 sounded like for me
