i am pretty sure this is the best anthrax. definitely long but basically every song rocks so whatever. first half is some of their best stuff, first four songs in particular. time is something totally out of left field for them technically and blood is so fun with those kind of rap vocals joey does. plus the unstoppable groove and heaviness of keep it in the family.
really dig the darker vibe and prog touches. and joey sounds really good, bit more controlled and less high pitched. very catchy still too! belly of the beast has such a killer hook. still blown away by how good benante is as a drummer, don't have an ear for standout drumming usually but he's so obvious. such precision and control, especially on the double bass.
what a great band, honestly they don't get enough credit these days. i love their mix of fun punky stuff and crushing grooves. joey's voice is such a great contrast to that. very unique sound. rightfully belong in the big 4.
