Bumping my rate for this a bit because it slays. definitely the best post-grief drudkh [2]

Yea average is too low. This definitely keeps the bm to a minimum but it's still atmospherically brilliant.

I suppose it's not "proper" BM, but yeah, the atmosphere is what makes this for me. Distant Cries of Cranes and Ars Poetica might be my favorite from here. I actually like the long build of Decadence too actually. I've seen others mark down the song for that reason.

Yea I've realized now this kinda has a black metal/shoe gazing sound to it.

all their newer ones have hints of that sound, most notably handful

^It's true. Sadly, I don't feel like they were really able to effectively pull that style off on that album. Same goes for that Old Silver Key album they did with Neige.

I think they're at their best when they mix the folk and BM with just a tinge of shoegaze.

You really can't go wrong with early- to mid-era Drudkh. Have you heard Estrangement yet? Any thoughts on that record?

I haven't even really been able to formulate my thoughts/ratings on those two, I just know I like them a lot

Nice. I really dig those albums too. In my opinion, they are the band's strongest.

You could include Blood in Our Wells as well. Their debut, Estrangement, and Songs of Grief and Solitude I feel are worth a checking out as well. I don't think their latest output has been nearly as powerful.
